Thursday Morning, July 20, 2006 the Patriot Guard Riders of Florida again buried a son. PFC Allan Spence, United States Army, died in an automobile accident and was laid to rest at Limona Cemetery in Brandon with full military honors. Special Thanks go to Tom & Jan (Starship) for the photos and narrative they provided. Great job you guys. |

We staged at the Publix Super Market a few block from the funeral home. The usual staggered formation was formed and we were safely escorted by a Hillsbourgh Sheriff's patrol car. Several of the experienced PGR riders assisted at intersections and there was a minimum of delay for the local traffic. After parking at the funeral home, we formed our flag lines on both sides of the circle driveway. Services inside took about an hour, or so. The military was there and they escorted the fallen hero into and out of the funeral home. |

Water was offered to the riders and all seemed to do well in the heat. We held our line with nary a complaint. All seemed honored to be there to say farewell to Pfc. Spence. The formation, ride of a few miles, to the cemetery was dealt with the the same way as the ride to the funeral home. The escort riders, again, did a great job of keeping things under control. |

At the cementery the flag lines were formed and a full military burial took place for Pfc. Spence. The flag line held until many of the family of Pfc Spence began to leave. Another sad mission completed. |
